Operative gynecologic laparoscopy has become the accepted
modality for treatment of various abdominal and pelvic pathologies. During
the past several years, enormous technical advances have taken place to make
this procedure practical, safe, and economical.
Course
Overview

preserving the wisdom of those before them as they seek state of the art
technology. Since 1982, they have gained extensive experience sharing their
knowledge with colleagues from the
Lectures will focus on the fundamentals of laparoscopic and
hysteroscopic surgery, including instrumentation, room set-up, lasers,
electrosurgery, harmonic scalpel, and robotics. Participants will observe
live surgery with interactive discussion, as well as participate in various
hands-on laboratory sessions utilizing both animate and inanimate models.
Educational
Objectives
The objective of this workshop is to provide opportunity for
instruction and guidance in the field of advanced operative laparoscopy and

hysteroscopic surgery.
4. Explain the physics,
tissue interaction, and safety measures associated with the use of lasers,
electrosurgery and ultrasonic energy.
5. Identify normal
pelvic anatomy.
