Farr Nezhat, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.A.C.S., is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. He is currently the Chief of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic and Robotic Surgery and Fellowship at St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals, Academic Affiliates of Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is the past president of the Society of Laparoendsocopic Surgeons and the pioneering leader in applying minimal access surgery to malignant and benign pelvic gynecologic pathologies, such as laparoscopic and robotic-assisted radical hysterectomy, tumor debulking, and treatment of severe pelvic endometriosis. He is nationally and internationally known for his research, teaching, and clinical contributions to the field of gynecological oncology and pelvic surgery. In addition to co-authoring over 200 book chapters and scientific articles, Dr. Nezhat co-authored four textbooks that detail his surgical technique, and has received numerous awards from the most significant and leading medical societies. He is a member of several distinguished medical societies, serves as an advisor and reviewer to a number of scientific medical journals, and is an Editorial Advisory Board member of the Journal of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and the Journal of Gynecological Surgery. Dr. Nezhat has been listed in the New York Super Doctors in New York Times Magazine and has been consecutively elected to the Best Doctors in America since 2003. Dr. Nezhat travels worldwide sharing the knowledge of his techniques and participates in a multitude of events and seminars.
