Ceana Nezhat, MD is recognized as the leader in the field of minimally invasive surgery and has pioneered the development of many laparoscopic procedures in the disciplines of gynecology, urology, and general surgery in addition to being a leader and advocate for women's health.
Dr. Nezhat's innovative techniques, such as laparoscopy (laparoscopic surgery performed with the aid of a real-time video feeds of the inside of the body) has revolutionized modern abdominal, pelvic, and thoracic surgery and established him as one of the foremost authorities in the areas of minimally invasive surgeries.
While being very active in research and teaching activities, Dr. Nezhat is foremost concerned about Nezhat Medical Center patients and providing the highest quality medical care possible. Nezhat Medical Center is devoted to family members, nurturing physicians, and excellent surgeons.
Dr. Nezhat has a special interest in the area of endometriosis and is an advocate of early detection and treatment. He has treated thousands of women with endometriosis. Currently, he is increasing awareness of this disorder by educating those in primary roles in the lives of young women, including gynecologists and family practitioners, on the signs and symptoms of endometriosis to promote early detection.
Dr. Nezhat’s practice in Atlanta, Georgia is devoted to women’s wellness. In addition to the highest quality of surgical skill, Dr. Nezhat offers patients his expertise in hormone therapy and reproductive medicine. While his primary focus is patient care, he is widely sought after for teaching and lecturing. He has conducted many courses on laparoscopic surgery worldwide and regularly performs medical volunteer work in the U.S. and under-developed countries.
Dr. Nezhat serves on the volunteer faculty as a Clinical Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine and Stanford University School of Medicine. He has co-authored two text-books and over 100 book chapters and articles. He has received numerous awards for his teaching and educational activities. Monday through Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm Although the office remains open, our staff takes lunch between 11:00am and 12:00pm. Unless prior arrangements are made, the medical staff will not be available during this time.
